Might as well make deer poaching legal if you read the management rules on the fence and only take what we ask. Geez! No wonder deer are nocturnal. Or maybe surprised they even come out at night. lol. I will say I would think poaching would be an issue where I hunt in Montague but I have never heard a shot at night except for our predator hunts. But it does happen.

Not to my recollection. But I'm the guy who'll hit a golf ball as it lies. No size 11 "wedge" for me.

mockin bird when i was 9. Two limits of dove a day morning/evening when I was a little older and didn't understand possesion limits. We would eat the fist bag for lunch and take the evening birds home.

I can say I've learned how to be a better, more ethical and overall responsible hunter and try to teach my kids anf fellow hunters the same.

Not coming from the best stock, I don't think I hunted a legal deer until I was an adult. About 10 years ago (well beyond the statute of limitations), after I'd taken all five of my whitetail, I had a sixth doe fall dead of a "heart attach" right in front of me with my father-in-law's tag on it. Not sure how that happened? Anyway, all six ate up extremely well. Other than that I'm completely legal.

I haven't shared mine and I began this thread. At age 11-12 I hunted quail, with a 22 bolt. I can honestly say that back then I didn't know it was illegal, with that though. I kept all the birds and ate em. It wasn't just for "sport", but granted it was still illegal.

I've broke a few over the years, but there is no way in Hades I'd call the GW. That is about as smart as speeding and then flagging down a trooper and telling him to give me a ticket, or running a stop sign or whatever.

If your conscience bothers you that much, either learn all the rules and be double sure what you do or stay home.

timber rattlers...... watching red cockaded woodpeckers up in the pines and not bothering them, or mentioning them pre-clearcut.

Sure have..Was in hs at the time and there were a couple families at the local church that had fallen on hard times. I would go out after school and drive around road hunting..I would field dress them and take them to one of the families.I still remember one of the women crying as I strung the deer up so the father could cut it up when he got home.. Been legal for 20 years now.. I think!

I don't think there is a statue of limitations on game violations, at least thats what a GW told me one time eek2

When I was 20 I did something illegal and didnt call the GW or anything. I was scared to death the whole night and I never have or never will do it again.

In my younger years driving around on county roads busting varmints and pigs was almost a sport and we all enjoyed doing it.

this is the way I learned to "hunt" quail.

I didn't know it was illegal either.

I discovered I didn't have the turkey stamp for fall season, I thought the tags covered it silly me. I added the stamp before spring season. Keeping all the hunting laws straight are a challenge.

I didnt know it was either. No different from shooting a turkey with a rifle. They are not migratory.
