Can of worms is gonna open on this one. More along the lines of ethical, I guess. Have you done something "illegal" as far as harvesting, tagging, over the limit ect??? Did you intentionally do it or was it an honest mistake. Did you call the GW ect or what??

When I was 12 I duck hunted on my grandmother pond and her neighbors. I shot at least 7 or 8 each morning for about 4 days. No hunting licence and no hunter ed no duck stamp. The only reason I quit hunting is the freezer was full. Hope the statute of limitations is out on this one.

I've taken the time each year to commit to memory every rule and regulation set forth by TPWD. I've NEVER broken the law not once never...well, I did rope a deer once, I suppose that's illegal...she definately won that fight though...

I forget to tag my deer in the field all the time, but I always do it once they're back at the camp.

When I was in college, I shot a doe in a no-doe county.

Haven't harvested anything I wasn't supposed to since, and it's been a decade.

We used to hang ours on the windmill tower then tag them before we left for home. Came back from town one day and the Game Warden was sitting at the gate. "Ya'll had any luck?" says he. "Sure have, got'm hanging on the windmill down there..." says dad. "Mind if I check'm out?" replies the lawman. "Heck no, you want some coffee?" says dad. We drive up there and he quickly mentions that the 6 deer hanging there are not tagged, he writes us tickets for $200 per deer, finishes his coffee, and bids us adoo.... We tag our deer before they hit the ground now...

When we were kids we ran amok on 3500 acre ranch where my best friend's dad was the foreman. We regularly camped out in the pasture and tested our manhood by our survival skills. We often killed over limits on dove and quail. Of course cooked and ate 'em on the spot. But, yeah, we done it I'm ashamed to say. We also ate a lot of robins when dove and quail weren't readily available. Robin taste surprisingly similar to dove with just about as much meat.

I have been known to go to the house, get the FEL, Take them back to the house. Then I tagged and gutted them.

I made a mistake one time. I called the GW about it. He wanted to know why I was messing with him over that kind of stuff.

I try to follow the laws for the most part... sure ive broken a few along the way.

Not sure if I would be what others call an "ethical" hunter as I have no problems whatsoever with shooting a sleeping deer. bolt

Grew up in South Louisiana, lived there till I was 12 or 13. Ducked hunted when I wanted, fished when I wanted, killed deer if I could ever see them, squirrels were a delicacy, pigeons, rabbits. i killed all this stuff and never even knew what a game warden was!! I also ran crab traps, caught all the redfish and specs I could, we had a camp on a mud barge that I lived on all summers with the guide that took my grandpaws clients out. He had a drilling mud biz and it was a very fun childhood. I also caught all the bass and perch I wanted when at home as we had two bayous running through our land we lived on and the intracoastal canal was at the very back of our property. I say all of this becasue I never knew what a game warden was, what a bag limit was any of that until I moved to TX!!! It has been nice to learn about game management and all of that sort of thing. Now I will say this, I killed becasue thats what we ate, if I caught fish, mom fried fish, if I killed squirrels, we had squirrel sauce piquante, if I killed rabbits we had rabbit and dumplings. Man I miss moms cooking smile Now since my wife dont eat it or cook period, I rarely kill anything and I bass fish alot and havent eaten a bass in 15 years probably. So have I always been ethical, nope, did I know any better, nope, prolly should have but South LA is a different kinda place. I think now it is much more manageded down there any my uncle says there are lots of wardens where he duck hunts but they still get to kill 5 a day and that will make a mean meal stuffed with apples and then baked. Umm Umm good.

Hunted dove without hunters safety in 1994 and got a ticket for it. My buddies were like let's go hunt and I had never gone so I bought a license and went. They said you only needed it for deer. Guess they really wanted me to go. Back then ticket was only $50 and you could work it off if you wanted. I found an extra dove stuff in the liner of vest a few weeks after a hunt years ago. Completely an accident and it sure stank. I double check now. I am pretty dang careful and don't even think about shooting a close to the ears deer and enjoy an early dove limit so I can just sit and watch. Much less stressful than trying to be the idiot to one-up everyone and break laws.

Only time ever, was in high school. Me and a bud took off to Colorado, working our way across Kansas baling hay. We got to Colorado and had money for one fishing license and then one day, a GW, who had the world's largest Russian Wolfhound caught us. That dog scared the crap out of us.

We 'splained what the deal was and he told us to go get the license down the road and let us go. Didn't even take the trout we'd caught. We actually went and bought the other license and stayed a couple more days.

Since then I have never broken a single game law.

Looking back, the biggest thing we did wrong as kids was shoot from the road. It was a law back then, but wasn't that big of a deal. If we were shooting coyotes or cats or wild dogs in someone's pasture, they were thankful.

Also back then it was common place to "pool" our dove, if 5 guys were hunting together we got 5 limits... today that is a no-no too.

As an adult, I have not intentionally broken a game law.

Not intentionally, it was an honest mistake. No I did not call the GW.

Only violation came 10 + years ago, dove hunting in West Texas. there were 8 of us limit was 12 each. GW started with first guys back at truck, he asked them how many they killed, well long story short, I was last guy in, the other 7 had told him they harvest an average of 8 each for a total of 56, they had 62 total, I had 12 total of 74, but and I got a ticket for 6 over, even though between the 8 of us we could have had a total of 96. GW went on what my "buddies" had told him. Since then I have watched my bag limits and picked better hunting buddies..... rofl texas

Well ive never broke any hunting laws or anything but can't say I haven't wanted to LOL. This buck lived behind my house on private property within city limits no one has ever hunted back there that I know of and the owner won't allow hunting. It was so hard at first to watch this deer every day at 75 yards.

Nope not me never, not even once, and if I did I would call the game warden and confess my guilt.
