Sorry for the late response. The wife and I were on a meat hunt at Rocky Rim Ranch outside of Hamilton. We were only after does and turns out not one showed up at the feeders. I can say the rut is definently on in Hamilton County. Saw some of the biggest bucks I have ever seen in my life. Easily were 170 and 180 class deer. It was an incredible experience. These guys run a top notch outfit and I would recomend it to anyone!

Well, I was out just west of Hamilton and we didn't see squat... well, we saw young bucks, but there were alone and spooked easy... like they were nervous. I assumed they'd just been culled from other, older bucks, who knows. I don't.
One guy saw three does together at a feeder but didn't say how big they were , but there were no bucks chasing them.
This morning hunted and neither of us saw anything up to 2 hours after the feeders went off. So something is up or all our deer left the lease and are eating someone elses corn.

yeah.. we're closer in.. like 5 miles west, just south of the golf course west of town. That makes me feel better. I'm thinking the deer are all busy right now. With the bright moon this weekend, I'm sure they're feeding whenever they want, IF they're even thinking about eating..

Yeah, this is my first year on this lease, but the guys told me it's significantly drier this year. The stock tanks are lower and it looks like a spring has stopped flowing or something, but I guess they've just not been getting rain in that area like further north.

Everyone keeps saying the rut is on and I have seen no action, I have tried rattling, grunting and have been putting out estrus and nothing. Last sunday me and my fiance killed two does, that's all we have been seeing during shooting hours now now bucks nothing with horns during the day. So who knows.....?

The moon ain't right folks. Full moon, the deer are up in the middle of the night. Saw them the past two nights grazing in the ditches at around 10PM.
