The General came out to school me on the art of duck shooting this morning, and brought down the first Green of the season.

And as always, I had a great time. It was Fast and Furious...only about 5-10 minutes of shooting and then it was over. Saw a LOT of ducks this morning...the problem was they all came at one time and you can only shoot so many before you gotta reload.

Those Marina Mallards are gonna be good eating. Whoever owns a boat named "Lucky Lucy", I apologize for the pellet holes in your hull. I violated rule #4 ("be sure of your target and what is beyond it") when I shot that mallard hen. My bad.

the thing about baiting is, even a rookie hunter could have a 170 bird season if they bait holes

Saw a LOT of ducks this morning...the problem was they all came at one time and you can only shoot so many before you gotta reload. Did you bring the Dachshund Duck Dog??? Nah, Jeff's dog is new. You'd think that it would be good for a new dog to watch an old veteran work some birds, but they usually wind up quitting once they see the impossible standard they have to live up to.

That would have been a sight. A dachshund showing a swamp pit to fetch ducks.

Wow 85.. Allie is only at 25 for year including teal.. 20 of em were teal. They aint as heavy as marina park mallards
