Looking for any feedback for this general area on processing and taxidermy. We're new to hunting the area and looking for some feedback. I've been through the processors thread a couple of times so that's a start.
Taxidermy recommendations - price. Processing - Basic processing costs, smoked sausage cost/lb. quality?
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Steve's in Brownwood is a great taxi. Check out the Taxidermy section there was a recent post. He use to be in the same building as a processor on 377 North on the north side. I had some freinds that owned a nice ranch southeast of Mercury that used Steve for all their taxi work. I have not been down there since they passed on. They also used the processor but since I process my own I cannot vouch for the quality. Steve has done several ducks for me and everything I have seen from him has been real good.

M&M Processing in Zephyr does a really good job. I have used them for the last several years. They do several different kinds of sausage (german, summer, etc). I think processing is $50-60 and don't remember the exact prices of the sausage.

We use Ted's just N of Brownwood. Craig's a good guy.

I process my own so I can't help you there. I usually just euro mount the skulls myself but my big buck from '08 was the only one I have wanted shoulder mounted so I took it down to Brady, Damuth Taxidermy/Wildlife Artist. They are a lil bit more expensive then regular taxidermist but well worth it I think. The mount looks like what a deer is supposed to look like and it will last for years & years. The turn around was far sooner then they said, I dropped it off early Nov. and on my birthday in Sept. it was ready.

M&M In Zephyr gets my vote, it was $70 to process my deer and they did an awesome job, very well packaged and flash frozen really really hard.

x 10! Great guy, has samples of different meats, plus he has a full meat butcher shop now. Just north of the tracks in Dublin
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

Anyone ever use Whaley Processing in Hamilton?
What about the taxidermist there? I think it is Black dog taxidermy?

Cox meats in Comanche is good. Mickey Donahoo does excellent taxidermy, he's in Goldthwaite.

I've had a couple heads mounted at Trophy Taxidermy in Early. Thats on 377/67 before you get into Brownwood. He does a great job. There is also a processing behind his shop. don't know how good they are in processing deer because I've not used them.
