I knew it was going to be a good day when i had to stop and watch 52 antelope cross the highway in front of me on the way out. Anyway , i have been working for this opportunity since last christmas when my wife bought me a diamond razors edge bow.i requested this bow because it is very light and has a low poundage/long draw combo. I have massive shoulder problems that have since been curbed by a dose of cortisone shots which is my reason for shooting low poundage..anyway , it didnt matter..i am shooting right at 50 lbs with academy game winner arrows and muzzy 100 grains..the arrow went in the right arm pit and came out the rear left hind quarter..i cant say enough about the muzzies and the diamond bow..i am 2 for 2 on a hog and a doe and both were pass thru's. here's the pic

Congrats on the first bowkill.
I ve been killign stuff(from hawgs to Blackbuck) with bow for a few years now but got my first whitetail this season.

where were you thatyou seen 52 antelope? That had to be a great experince watching them runa bout.
I would love to bowhunt a pronghorn one pf these days. Have a buddy that tried it once up in the Dakotas and said it was most challenging bowhunt hunt he did.

i live in big spring and there is a good number of antelope making a big comeback between here and snyder..they are really hitting a big pivot of wheat hard right now about 15 miles out of town. I have seen them several times but never crossing the road.the gate to the place was open and i guess it was time to move from wheat into a cotton field.i turned on my flashers and kinda ran interference for them while they crossed..there was still a dozen or more in the wheat that didnt cross.

Hey caprocker! Congrats on your successful harvest with stick and string! Nice accomplishment! I am your neighbor to the west in Midland. I use to see them pronghorns hot and heavy around Gail as well. There are alot of them in that neck of the woods but I have yet to figure out how you get permission to hunt them, or how you go about it. I think them speed goats are beautiful animals. Congrats and hopefully you will get a chance to arrow a buck this year also. Oh yeah, dont worry about shooting 50 pounds, I only shoot 60 and use to hunt alot with a 45 pound recurve. If youve got the right arrows and throwing some good kenitic energy at them they will all die! Keep at it and take care neighbor!

You haven't said a lie there. I shot for Pearson for a year or so back in the 80's...I'm STILL hunting with my Pearson Renegade they gave me. Has about 40% letoff I believe and I draw to about 85 lbs before breakover...sucks I know. I have a Stanislowski overdraw using 2213 XX75's with Thunderhead 125's. Shafts are cut to 22 1/2". I get about 275 fps.... (I think I just dated myself)

I hear they are coming off the rack now at 350 fps...I have killed a TON of animals with my bow and probably won't retire it until the limbs blow...but seeing and hearing about the new technology sure gets me ancy....

yeah bobby its funny you mention your old bow...my present bow is shooting short of 300 fps but i dont worry about it..i am reminded of the bear whitetal II i was shooting back in the day that could be headr all the way across the ranch back then...it doesnt bother me a bit when i get into the draw weight and kinetic energy talk with present day guys...that arrow is flyin fast ..much faster than my old 65lb bear used to be pushin..and absolutely silent compared to the old twanger banger..i didnt spend much on this set up but it is sufficient..try a newer bow when u get a chance..u will appreciate it that much more after shooting the old dawg for so long...
