A friend of mine his letting us hunt their tanks out there this weekend. Do ducks congregate out there?

My inlaws live there and I know that LAKE X holds a good amount of ducks in that area. I bet it would be good, if you can you might want to scout the area if possible.

all I know about Mineola is the Ranchero is one of the best buffets in the state of Texas.

In our area tank hunting is usually much better from late December into Janurary. Certainly get out and hunt if you are invited but it's still too early to expect much IMHO.

Yeah.. tank hunting is normally better where I have hunted later... but i was surprised how many ducks came in on a different tank opening weekend early in the morning. So we're probably going to try and be there early and see what a few decoys do for us. I wish i could scout it. But this just came up yesterday and I have a lot of upcoming work.

Was in the area just west of there last weekend, there were quite a few ducks around so you might just get lucky.

Yeah, I'm from there and have heard about some good hunts, but it depends on if you are around a certain estuary that runs a bit north of Mineola. Like was mentioned, the tank action normally is better later in the season.
