Anybody seeing any rut activity in Motley,Hall or Cottle countys. Hunted Motley county this past weekend and didn't see much activity. The bucks I did see, all had swollen necks.

I hunted Motley for several years and now hunt Dickens county, and the pre-rut is definitely in full-swing right now. Next weekend a cool front is moving through and I bet you will see a lot of chasing going on. Usually the peak rut (when breeding occurs) is between the 18th-25th.

I was hunting in Motley County as well. Between me, a buddy of mine, and his father in law, we didn't see a whole lot. I sat in the stand for about 12 hours this weekend, and didn't see a thing. It was pretty warm, and windy (of course). I'm thinking it should begin anytime now, espeiaclly with some cooler weather pushing through. Call the biologist if you want to narrow it down. I'm just gonna go every weekend until I shoot something worthwhile.

I also hunt in Motley County and I spoke with Dana the County Biologist today and she told me that the Whitetail are up and looking but the does are not ready. She expects the peek of the rut to be on 11/20. She said the next 10 days should be some good hunting.

It appears to be on in Collingsworth county for some bucks at least. On our lease a 12 year old dropped a nice 13 point that had just finished doing the dead with a doe. eek2

On the way to check the deer, they were almost run over by a doe being chased by a big 10. The dad said that 10 point was maybe 15 yards from them and never looked their way.

Wish I could get over there to hunt. bang

We are by the Mill Iron. I`m just going by what 2 hunters said this morning. They watched a 13 point mount a doe, then about 20 minutes later the son shot it.

I`m not saying ALL are rutting. But they said the last 2 days have been VErY GOOD. Seeing ALOT of bucks passing thru.

I hunt in cottle county. We have seen a few hot does, one with 4-5 bucks chasing her. I think it has started in cottle!!!

I've hunted Cottle for 10 years now and Tk is correct...there may be a little pre rut going on right now but things are certainly beginning to get lined up. Thanksgiving is always the peak of the rut in that area. Give it another full week and you'll likely start to see bucks really chasing does

I hunt in Motley saw lots of looking and short runs, bucks are cruising, however I did see a buck we call curly with a doe pinned down in a plum thicket in the am. that night he went to another members feeder with a very bloody horn?? saw the video myself.

Novmeber 20th is exactly the date I was told as well, with it lasting possibly all the way to December 3rd. I'll be there this weekend, and four or five days the weekend after that. I'm ready, that's all I know.

I saw plenty of does last weekend and none of them had bucks anywhere near them (Crosby County) I think it is a little early yet. Supposed to have hard freeze this weekend. I bet that will get them up and moving a bit better.

I'm really excited about this weekend as well. There should be a lot of action in the daylight hours with the cooler temps. Can't wait to get in my blind and hope a big bad buck comes so my wife can shoot it. LOL.

I hear you. My boy took one of the biggest we've seen during youth weekend. He gets to watch me attempt to get a buck now, since we are in a one buck county. He has does on the mind aswell.

Was in Foard County this past weekend and saw a ton of does, but no interested bucks yet. Should be getting better by the day!

Hey Skinny, was that the deer I saw in the back of a pickup at Taco Casa in Vernon? I walked over and checked it out, nice buck.
