Went out Friday and had a good hunt, Saturday went to a public walk-in place in Dallas and got 2, Kendall was fine the entire hunt and ran all the way back to the truck and then started licking her paw. Didn't think much of it and she jumped in the truck and we went home. She was limping around the entire day after a nap and this morning got up at 5 to go and she wouldn't get out of bed. If she hears my alarm go off when it's dark outside she jumps up and starts stretching. Went back to bed and when I woke up her back right paw was twice as big as her left. Drove back to College Station to get in to the vet and she is staying there with a spider bite or puncture that is infected. She will be out 7-10 days and I doubt I could hunt without my bud. Hope she gets better soon.

Hope your pup gets better soon... I've had similar issues with my dogs (not labs) and they get better pretty quick with antibiotics and rest. The biggest problem with mine is getting them to stop chewing the vet-wrap and licking the wound

I agree with a few days of rest and meds she will be fine. Had same thing happen last year to my dog and it ended up being a puncter wound from a stick at the lease or hotel. missed one weekend of hunting and she was back to normal

Bitter apple spray from pet smart works miracles. and nothing else even compares to it

Sorry to hear about the pup. Hope she heals up fast. My pup has green mucus coming out of her eye now. Probably an eye infection. Will be taking her to the vet if not better in the morning.

My pup has been out of commission for a week as well. Took her hunting opening weekend and her paw swelled up real bad. I think she stepped on a stick or something and tore her pad and her foot swelled up real bad. Have been doctoring the foot up and wrapping them.
