My grandfather called my father today and gave him a report on his latest coyote sighting. My grandparents have a large kitchen window that looks out on open farmland as far as you can see.

He said they were sitting at the table about 10:30 in the morning and noticed a large flock of geese flying over the field. They then noticed something out in the field behind the geese. Upon closer inspection, they saw it was two coyotes "chasing" the flying geese.

I'm sure coyotes eat geese when they find them on a pond or nesting, I've never heard of them chasing flying geese though.

Our other thought is maybe instead of a coyote howl or rabbit screech for predator hunting, maybe we need a goose call? Anyone ever tried it? Match the hatch, right?

its possible for them to alter their habbits & what they eat to match the location....wouldnt doubt they'd try goose for dinner

Coyotes have eaten every African Grey goose I've ever bought for my pond. I don't know if they were flying when they got caught but I can tell you that geese are the preferred meal of the coyotes in my area.

I just got some geese calls for my homemade e-caller. I'm going to try those.
