Rl22 with a 120 Gr tsx should be an awesome combo running over 3400 ft per sec

What bullet weights were you considering? RL22 is a slower burning powder and will generally work well with heavier bullets. I have had good results with medium burn rate powders such as IMR-4350 with 140 grain bullets.

I'm no reloading expert by a long shot, I haven't tried RL22. I have tried VVN165, H4831,4350, IMR 4064,4350, RL 19, H1000, IMR 7828 In 7mm mag.
VVN165 my all around preferred. IMR 7828 for heavy bullets. H4831 - IMR 4064 easy and accurate. H1000 was my favorite until I ran out. The new lot was inconsistent with the old. RL 19 was okay, another powder I found to be inconsistent from lot to lot. Neither of the 4350's did what I was looking for.

Koenig, I would suggest starting with a medium burn rate powder like one of the 4350's for the 139 grain Hornady. In my rifles I have never been able to make good velocity with slower powders and light to medium weight bullets, that's not to say it won't work for you as all rifles are different.

Koenig, What results were not to your liking with H4350 powder? Accuracy, velocity, or both?

In that case, I would give one of the 4831's a try. These powders are slightly slower burning than the 4350's. A full power load using one of the 4831's will have a greater load density than a full power load using one of the 4350's. Generally speaking, loads with 90-100+% load densities produce better accuracy because of more uniform powder ignition.

I just got back from A Place To Shoot and had decent accuracy with the H4350 and went ahead and zeroed the rifle because those are the only loads I had and rifle season starts this weekend but when the H4350 runs out, I'm going to buy 4831.
