So I'm checking my honey hole out in McKinney and was wondering how do y'all scout? Do you go in the morning? Mid-day? Evening? At sunrise or a Lil later?

Most of my scouting is in the afternoon. I also make a point to scout after I get done hunting in the morning. I have a rule of thumb that everytime you hunt on public you should learn something new about the place before you leave.
I have heard people say that scouting in midday or afternoon is not good because birds will be somewhere different in the morning...well those people don't know what they are talking about. If you find a pile of birds on a spot in the evening you should be able to shoot a pile of ducks there the next morning.

I bring my 475 ultra..ultra mag drive to the middle of the lake...grab my swaro 100x91 spoting scope..
Fire off a few shots and look for where the birds take off from
