This year during the beginning of bow season we had 6-8 deer everytime we went and sat down in our bow stands! Then for the past few weeks we barely seen a deer and the ones we see aren't coming to the feeders at all. We hadn't seen very many acorns on the ground or in the trees, but yesterday morning I had two doe cone in within 25 yards of my feeder and eat acorns for about 20 minutes. They then turned and walked away and never once gave that feeder a second look. I was curious if anyone else was having these same problems? I know deer will always pick the acorns over the corn, but to go from 15 deer a day to maybe 3 over a few days is ridiculous!

I was just talking about this to a guy the other day. Dont know if theres anything behind this but It seems to me like every year the end of October is really slow. Where we hunt early and mid october is awesome and then the last week or so it gets tough. Its almost like inbetween the summer pattern and pre-rut theres a short period where they dont move much. Thats how it is on our place anyway, anybody else see this?

Yep, lots of groceries. Plus the little turd bucks are starting to harrass the does so they'll choose not to be out in the open for a while.

Well that's basically what the others and I have come up with at the lease! It's strange because we looked all around at the trees and ground and saw very few acorns, but evidently it's enough to keep the deer and hogs from coming to the feeders

We went from seeing 6-10 deer at the feeder every morning and evening to 1 or 2 every other day if we're lucky.

They'll be back in a few weeks.
