I have never messed with them before and was just wondering if anyone eats them? And if so are they good?
If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

Not enough meat. I have an uncle you spends time trimming the meat from between the ribs to add to sausage. Waste of time if you ask me. I bet if you eat them like pork ribs they will be tough.

Not nearly enough meat or fat. Even wild pig ribs are too lean for my liking.

I have eaten them lots of times. I really like them but not really enough meat to mess with them as stated above. Sometimes I get them and sometimes I don't. Depends on the mood I'm in when skinning.

I don't eat them but I do put them in a pot of chili or spaghetti sauce....works perfect (meat just falls off the bone if you cook it long enough) and tastes great!

We have never cooked them like you would spare ribs or anything, but do cut the flank off and the meat from inbetween the rib bones and put it into sausage and ground meat. It doesnt add a whole lot, but there is no reason to waste it, it doesnt take but a minute to cut it out. I consider it lazy, and if you come to our place and shoot a deer and leave rigs or something like that you probably wont make a return trip.
One of my cousins comes all the time and will shoot a nice size sow, I will take a look at it and say you want to skin her... he always says no, let the yotes have her. Then I will skin it out and ice down, all of a sudden he wants the hams and ribs to take home... I dont think so.

I like them, kind of like jerky on a stick. not gonna make a meal of them, but if you already have the smoker going gives you a snack before everything else is ready
I'm thankful for the things i have and all the things i don't

I don't waist them. I feed them to my dogs. They love em. I usually trim the meat between the ribs and throw it in with the rest of my ground meat and feed the bones to the dogs.

Yearling and 1.5 yr old doe ribs can be separated, battered and fried like deer steak. The kids love them!

They're pretty good if you know what you're doing. I love my back strap, but I've left it attached to one side of a wrack of ribs and trimmed the rib tips almost like wrack of lamb. After I've marinaded them I browned them on the grill then I laid bacon across it wrapped it in foil and slow smoked. Once it's tender It can be sliced between each rib bone so that it looks like chips. Pretty darn good too!

We have baked them before and they are ok but just not much there.

I have a friend that takes every piece of meat he can get off of the deer.
When he gets finished with a deer the buzzards are mad at him.

When he gets finished with a deer the buzzards are mad at him. ...your friend sounds like me. I scrape the ribs and add to my ground meat pile. Buzzards can get their own meat.

I've had them. Done right, they are good. I never used to cook them myself, but did bone them out. When I hunted the place up in Kimble and Gillespie County when we fed year-round and heavy on protein along with Corn Nuggets, we had some of the meatiest thickest deer ribs ever. They wer absolutely fantastic on the grill or bbqed.
