I have never used it before thought I'd try something new this year so I got the screw in block, liquid stuff, and the acorn dropping block. Put them out last week, I'm going out tomorrow to drop off more corn and take one last look at things before opening morning, will post any thing of interest for an FYI type thing if anyone else has used this stuff feel free to chime in on it.

I am doing my normal walk through the neighborhood this week picking up acorns. My neighbors are used to it, so they allow me access to their yards. I take a couple buckets of acorns and mix them with some buck grub. Works like a charm. It is both cheaper and lasts longer.

Sure, 1- large jar peanut butter. (softened in micro) 2- 1 cup Brown sugar 3- 3 cups Corn Meal 4- 3 cups Rolled Oats (Quaker Oats) 5- 2 tlb spoons vanilla extract( real not synthetic) 6- syrup ( cheap stuff) 7- 2 cups corn
combine all except syrup into a mixer bowl and mix until everything is mixed very well. them begin adding syrup until mix gets thick. be careful not to add too much, mix will end up like a brick if you add too much syrup. pack mix into an old butter tub and let stand overnight, when ready to use mix will come out of container with litter effort. sometimes i add fruit just to mix up the taste. if you get quantity on all items you can make a bunch of bricks for very little cost per brick. and the deer love em!!!!

I think it's a sham. It's designed to attract people to buy rather than deer to eat. But if it gives you confidence then go for it. I put one of the screw in ones out and put a camera on it. All I had get on it was squirrels. But I think there were a lot of acorns on the ground at the time. The deer were probably eating real acorns. It might be a different story somewhere that (1)lacks abundance of browse or (2) has a high concentration of deer to compete with each other. I was hunting East Texas and it's hard to get them to even go to feeders in that area.

Personally we put Acorn rage, cmere deer, and deer cane in one field 20 yar'd apart and 20 yard's from a corn feeder! The first deer to walk out went straigth to the acorn rage put it's head to it and jumped 4 ft. in the air and hurdled the fence and never came back! several more deer showed that day and all the rest went to the corn feeder! My dad had similar result's in TN deer didn't like it!

Thanks for the recipe...Is that Karo corn syrup or just regular pancake syrup? I think I might make some for my dessert tonight.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and you will spend a lifetime selling him rods, reels, line, hooks, lures, boats, motors, sonar..........
You get the idea, same for hunting.

the cheapest pancake syrup you can find. i can make the blocks for about 2.50 each. dont get the peanut butter too hot, just warm enough to get it soft. in my micro its about 2 min. ya dont want to start the oats and corn meal cooking. if you make a bunch at one time you can store in the freezer to keep fresh. like i said the deer love em, once you smell the aroma you will see why they will attract deer from a long way off!!!!

well I went out and looked at those blocks we have had a little rain lately and the biggest thing I have seen is that they don't hold up to rain as well as they say they do, there were lots of tracks around them and there were none of the acorns on the ground could have been squirrels or some thing but I didn't see any hog tracks around them not really sure if they attracted any thing but my feeder pen didn't have any corn on the ground so they might have been over there looking for an easy meal cant say for sure cause my trail cams are not working for some reason and had to send them in to be repaired so I guess I got to wait till opening morning to find out

i built a block feeder with a simple tin top. it works well, it just keeps the blocks from melting fast in the rain. bucks dont seem to have a problem with the tin top.
