I read, or thought I read somewhere that shooting hours is over at noon. Is this true? I have looked for this information, but I cant seem to find it. Maybe I dreamed this.

It is true BlackSnake. Contact the corp office where you got your permit. They told everyone when they got their permits. I hunted there Saturday morning and there wasn't that many ducks, we left with one bread fed mallard drake...

It is not stated anywhere in the literature they published. If you call them, I was told that they are going by TPWD regulations which are sunset. Not sure which is true now.

I thought so. Thank you for clairfying this for me. Yes, I also went out late Sunday morning and saw nothing. Two guys were leaving and said that they may have seen thirty all morning, but they were not comming to them. The vegetation this year is poor at best.

I'm gonna give them a call tomorrow. I dont mind setting on the lake with no or few birds a few evenings. Better than staring at the boob tube.

It's on the back of the Grapevine Permit/business card that you are required to have on your person while hunting: "Rest Periods: Shooting hours end at noon."

I used to sfternoon hunt grapevine all the time, no big deal It was no big deal before because until this year grapevine waterfowl hunting was allowed all day. This year it ends at noon. It is on the front and back of your migratory hunting permit. It will be hard for someone to deny knowing or to explain that they were told otherwise when the warden or ranger reads it on your permit when being checked. Look at your permit for the answer. On front it reads Season: "As set by TPWD and USFWS. Must observe rest periods (see back) ". On back it reads "Waterfowl Rest Periods: Shooting hours end at noon" .
