If you were going to purchase a range finder, what brand would it be. Why do you think your suggestion is the best one. Thanks

Like all optics, spend the most money you can afford. Brand suggestions come with price range.

Leica's really work great but come with a price. Their reticule is smaller I get better reads with them. I have one in their binos so it is very nice to have to carry only one item with you instead of 2. I have used a Leupold and it did work great. I had a Swaroviski when it first came out but and worked well out to about 200 yrd on deer sized game and would range larger targets out much farther but due to the reticule just being to large in diameter it limited where and how I used it.

I got a Bushnell from Cabellas for about $160, works with archery angles too.

I just bought a Leupold RX750 from Cabela's Bargain Cave for $225 (retails for $280). Seems to work well. But the reticule is going to be too big for deer sized targets at long range.

So I sat in the blind while my buddy drove the truck down my senderos. I ranged the truck and then using surveyor's tape we marked off 100, 200, 300, 350, 400, 450 & 500 yards down each of my 4 senderos.

leica is the best one available if you are doing some serious long range marks. they have the tightest beam for the price.

I've had the old Nikon 440 for the past 3 years and have banged it around plenty. If I ever succeed in destroying it, I'll get another.

I used to use a leupy rangefinder.
I recently got a pair of the leica geovids.
They are pretty dang awesome.
Very clear, and from just playing around have ranged neighborhood cats at 1000 yards.
I can range trees over 1300 yards.
Pricey, but well worth the price.

Lieca, just cause I love the one I have so much.

I have had a Bushnell for quite a few years. I assume that it is fairly accurate. However, I have never checked.

Had the Nikon, had the leupold. Finally got the one I originally wanted, the Lieca. Save your money to buy the best and you will save some money in the long run and be much happier. Love the lieca, wished I had got it sooner.

I have used several others but Leica is what I have now. Its by far the best. I would have saved some money if I had bought it in the first place.

u can go with a cheapy unless ur making really long shots and u need the absolute distance...

We used a cheap one at work. And i could shoot a power pole at 300+ yards and get a very accurate read. Usually within 10ft.... and since ur shooting deer and not poles, and unless ur going over several hundred yards, i dont see any reason u would need a high priced one... unless u just want it.
