Three of the guys have purchased the new Polris rzr's and I dont mind that but after the morning hunt they let thier kids have them and it was race city beside our camp. Now am all about having fun but if you want your kids to have a goodtime on them go to a riding park . I pay good money and work hard to make my lil paradise the best I can and dont want this noise going on during hunting season. TY for listening

Maybe time for some lease rule amendments?
It'd tick me off too.

I don't blame you. In the off season, we make all the racket we want to, but during hunting season it is time to be quiet. No Chain saws, loud music, no shooting except at animals, etc.
Is this a lease, your own land or what? Bring it up around the camp fire or whatever, could be others feel the same way.

One thing good about being an A-hole like me... I'd have NO PROBLEM telling THEM how I feel!!!
I made it clear a few years ago, if ya want to joy ride ATV's do it during off season!
Grow a pair and tell um how you feel!

I agree, not proper hunting behavior at all. That would have to stop at my place.

We own our place, I had a "guest" that showed up with an ATV. I wasn't there, but another guy told him to leave it on the trailer. I showed up about 30 minutes later, within 5 minutes it was off of the place. No ATV's on our place, if you are too lazy to walk, you better stay home.
If you have a mile or more to walk, then I "may" see a reason to use an ATV, but even then I have a hard time believing it is a necessity. A little work and walking is good for you.

We had one at our place and the same thing started happening. My nephew and his friends would ride between hunts and at night. I put a stop to that after the season. I hauled it in and sold it!! No more ATV's on our place!!!

Don't even get me started with this one.
I'll just say that when video games are not available to babysit their kids, some parents will turn their attention to ATV's.

I have seen several good leases completely ruined by ATV riding .

We use them on our place.. To and from stands only. We have some stands that are to rough for a truck to get to. No joy riding at all. Off season or not..

This is why I have a no "no recreational ATV riding" clause in my contract. It's a shame... but sometimes you have to put common sense in black and white.

A lot of land owners don't want folks tearing up their grass and causing erosion problems, not to mention the chances of an accident and the attached liability.

If you have a mile or more to walk, then I "may" see a reason to use an ATV, but even then I have a hard time believing it is a necessity. A little work and walking is good for you. what happens if you kill a deer after walking said mile? you quarter it up and pack it out? we have a no joyriding rule as well, if you get on a vehicle, its for a reason, not to cruize around. i think some people think is a necessity to hunt. invited a buddy to come dove hunting on our place, he suggested he could bring his 4 wheelers. I said naw, we don't need them, i have two mules. he dropped it but later kept bringing it up. after several attempts to bring the atv's, i finally told him, I don't allow 4 wheelers (which for the most part is true) and i don't want you riding around scaring my deer. I guess some folks think an invite to camp is also an invite to joyride after and in between hunts
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I use my 4 wheelers 12 months of the year. It's my land and nobody hunts there but me. However, I'm not impressed with joy riding during deer season. Actually, I seldom ride one when I'm heading out to hunt. If I do, I stop 3 or 4 hundred yards from where I'm going to hunt.
An old Rancher once told me "If you ride a bunch of 4 wheelers this weekend, you won't see deer next weekend". I have found that to generally be true.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.
Boy, if I say "sic em", you'd better look for something to bite. Sam Shelley, Rancher Muleshoe Texas 1892-1985 RIP

The joy riding is more aggravating than bothersome to the deer. You need clear rules for problems like these. Good luck

No joy riding ATV's at our 1200acres either. Unfortunantly our camp is far to some of our stands so ATV's only go to and fro to the stands. Horses/Mules are always welcome tho. I can sneak up on a deer 10x better on a horse than on foot!
