Has anyone found any kind of boots for the dogs feet that WORK?!
Where we hunt its almost solid stickers. Its so sad for him! He's always having to pick out stickers!

We've purchased a few and he's just not wanting ANYTHING on his feet! LOL

Any ideas?

for west Texas sand burrs, you can't beat the Lewis boots. I also use the "deluxe dog boots" that Cabala's sells and have had really good luck with them. they are easy to get on, they stay on and they offer good protection with a rubber bottom on them. problem is they wear out pretty quick and don't have drain holes. They only last about a year and if you are in the sand burrs, the burrs will stick to the cordura upper and Velcro straps. they tend to be more of a handler issue that a dog issue, but as long as you wear gloves when you take the boots off and put them on, it's not really an issue.

...and welcome to the forum. up

+3 for lewis boots. I like the prewrap but it takes to much time when you are booting 8 dogs a day. I use duck tape with the initial wrap sticky side up and then the boot and then wrap sticky side down. I remove the boots with athletic scissors and cut where the boot flaps join and just slip them off. The big problem is removing the tape from the boots at tthe end of the hunt.

he's talking about using baby socks and then wrapping the socks (with dog feet in them) with duct tape... "in a pinch" if that's all you have.

I use the cabelas delux boot. I have never had one come off. They work great and after about 10 steps, the dog forgets they are there. I used them again this past weekend. We hunted about 3 1/2 hours and I never had to adjust them.

Can the Lewis boots be bought locally in DFW area? Otherwise, I guess I'll head to Cabelas...

Lewis boots are the only way to go. I order mine from Gun Dog Supply and usually have them in a couple of days. The key to using them is following the instructions on the tape. A lot of folks use duct tape, but the rubber in the boot pulls the adhesive off the duct tape and after a period of time you have a bunch of sticky stuff on the booth. Use the 1" water proof first aid tape like Lewis recommends.

I used duct tape for the first and last time this week. HE&& to get off and leaves the boot a sticky mess. Also got sores on 2 out of three dogs feet. I used to be able to find good athletic tape but lately it's poor holding stuff. I guess I'll have to search the good stuff out. For spme reason I can't get the water proof stuff to hold?

I've tried various dog boots and they work pretty good. However, my go to is a large bicycle inner tube; 2.75 to 3.00 inch by any diameter. You need to buy them from a bike shop as most sporting goods stores don't stock this size. They are cheap and one tube lasts a long time. Cut them in approximately 7 inch sections so you can double them over. Cut 1 inch slits in top end to help slip over paws. Use the athletic wrap to pups paws for protection, then slip half of the tube up the foot. Secure first with white athletic tape then fold up the second portion of the tube and secure with black electrical tape. Keep this section slightly shorter to secure this second wrap to the initial layer. This keeps adhesive to pups paws to a minimum. Pay particular attention to how you wrap and secure and it is much easier to remove. I've never lost one of these and they work great.
