Any reports in or near Coleman County. First year to hunt there and did not get the lease until late last month only had time to get the feeders going and a camera up but wont be able to check it until opening weekend. We are between Coleman and Novice. Just trying to see what to expect.

Been some nice deer shot in that area over the years... With the moisture we have had this year there should be some good hunting in Coleman county.

Im northeastern corner of Coleman county and with the acorns and rain, should be good. You might not see big bucks yet but once the rut kicks in, never know what might come through. No shortage of does.

If you are able to manage the place well, it can produce some NICE bucks. Most of what I have seen in my area, are going to be passed just due to being too young.

Our ranch is 3 miles east of the highway turn off at Novice, on Lake Coleman. Two of our guys have already taken two over 140. I have some good pictures of bucks that had tremendous growth from last year. One went from a small 8 pointer into a nice, young 10 pointer. We're seeing a lot more kickers and forked G2's this year than we did last year. Lots of fawns this year too. I think I only have one doe that doesn't have a fawn on it. Most had twins this year. The does are skinny and sucked down bad. But, the bucks have some great body weight to them. Lots more turkeys this year than in the past two years. Our hogs don't seem to be everywhere, like they were last year. But, we put a big hurt on the hogs last year.

Go to the grocery store in the town square of Coleman and look at the photos. I liked that area. Friendly people until the end of season and you can tell they have had enough of the out of towners.

There really isn't a town square, the grocery store is about a block west the main drag. Sorry Trout but we locals aren't as UN-friendly as you may think

I could always tell by the end of the season that many people were tired of all the visitors. Coleman gets alot of new faces during deer season. Excellent hunting and lots of good eating places.

True, its great business for the grocery store and other places. Living out in the sticks its not too bad except the endless traffic down the otherwise quite county road and the trash. We have our dumpster dumped Friday morning and sometimes by Saturday night its packed full of trash and junk (mainly food packages from places we don't have around here). I mean it is better then leaving it all over the roads but still.

We hunt just north of town and a little southeast Of Lake Coleman. This is our 3rd year and we have only killed culls except for 2 11 points last year. The bucks are in great shape and we have a few gooduns running around. The does with twins are a little poor looking. I think if we can keep doing what we are doing in a couple years we will have plenty of 5.5 year old deer. The bucks seem to have more mass than last year. I got my sights on a big spike that needs to go to the freezer. The rest will get to walk another year unless one shows up a man can't refuse. I can hardly wait till Nov 6th.

The best part is hanging out with Paul Paul for a few days. And BTW his wife makes some killer drinks after the hunt and she keeps our cabin spiken span clean.

Maggie.....how much rain did we get south of Coleman? I hunt right off of Ivie and we saw some good rain Friday while I was out there. There is a lot of good deer around Coleman. I'm not seeing as many fawns this year and the bucks still seem to be in velvet (as of Friday). But overall the herd looks healthy.
