I know alot of people that swear by it but at my lease in east texas it will sit and mold deer wont touch it. I think when I got a bag last year it was 12 bucks.

Yea buddy!! You can get it in 50# sacks running anywhere from $10-20/bag from a mill. It works good and they will eat it/come to it before they hit corn, at least the Buck Grub, then we started using straight rice bran and we just poured it out on the ground.

It does work good. I have had pictures of deer that stay on it for 20-30 minutes at a time. I paid 6.50-8 a bag

Rice bran works as well as any other attractant sometimes better. A lot (most) commercially available attractants use rice bran as a base.
Ask a feed store for Equine "Natural Glo" aka "Healthy glo" nuggets (40lb) or meal (30lb) or Moor glo" pellets (40lb) all contain food grade stabilized rice bran. Stabilized will tolerate 1-3 mornings of heavy dew. Normal rice bran will go rancid quickly after contact with moisture, even a heavy dew. Neither will tolerate rain.
Dump it on the ground not in a feeder.
Use it straight out of the bag or; Mix a 5 gallon bucket of healthy glo meal +1 cup brown sugar + 1 teaspoon berry jello or kool aid. If you can find a powdered apple flavoring use it. If that dont work leave out the flavor and mix in 18 oz of regular oatmeal.

leave the rice bran, buy the horse and mule sweet feed, we had em hit the rice bran, but the sweet feed was a much better draw...
we put it out with acorns, c'mere deer, and corn, as well as piles in the feed pens, they ate it, but it was the last stuff they ate
the man at the top of the mountain didn't fall up it

You can buy at a rice mill in Lissie,Texas right on highway 90 near Eagle Lake,Texas. I just checked on it the other day and it was a little under $250 a pallet, which is a ton I think. I hear people have luck with it in south or west texas and know a guy with a ranch in Rocksprings, and the exotics tear it up.

I put 100lbs out last week on the ground in the rolling plains and the deer were scared of it. Then I knocked down the 'mounds' & mixed corn in with it. They picked the corn out, but did get the bran(basically a powder) on their snouts & had to lick it off(I was watching from 25 yds). I'm not sure they liked it. I'll give it a while longer to see if they'll eat it. As of right now, I would just buy corn... It was $8.50/50lbs at Bear Creek feed store in Leonard.
