 Bug repellant while bow hunting?

I got busted last night by a doe because the dang mosquitos were killing me. I never wear bug spray. got any suggestions?

How do y'all not get busted by thermacells? I got busted in my brush blind the other day because of the thermacell. It puts off a noticeable smell.

I have been bow hunting over 40 years and have never used anything. Once it gets really cold they don't bother you anyway.

I don't think it matters what you use, if the deer is downwind, he/she is going to scent you. Use a thermacell to keep the mosquitos away or use any other insect spray and hope the deer doesn't come in downwind.

I don't think it matters what you use, if the deer is downwind, he/she is going to scent you. Use a thermacell to keep the mosquitos away or use any other insect spray and hope the deer doesn't come in downwind. Not wanting to argue with you, but I don't get busted when they are down wind. I've had deer stick their heads in my pop up with out being busted... Because I do take all the precautions I can with scent control... not using bug repellant is one of those.

I have been worried about this weekend becuase of a spot with misquitos. But it is getting down in the low 40's thursday and friday night so hopefully the skeeters wont be to bad.

When I can smell the thermacell smoke, I'm sure the deer can too. And no, I was careful bein scent free and no movement.

Scent shield makes a spray called no stinkin bugs with 25% deet. it works!! Does have a little smell though.
