I have a question if you have bow hunted Axis. I am going on my first Axis hunt and it will be with a bow and I can not find a skeleton diagram of an Axis vitals. I have been told there vitals are not close to a whitetail, what is your experinces?

Check the "Tuesday live hunt" thread by Brother in-law. He shot an axis buck and his arrow placement looks to be right behind the shoulder. Hope this helps.

That's why I like a quartering away shot, I try to exit between the front legs if possible.

Stay tight to the shoulder. A few inches can make for a long blood trail.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.
