I need some help, I'm buying my first pair of waders and I have a size 14 shoe. I hear that you need to buy at least one shoe size bigger for waders, so that being said, where can I find some waders size 15 or bigger?

boot foot waders need to be a size smaller, not bigger.

I've only used boot foot.
Go somewhere and try them on.
With boot foots you want the smallest size you can comfortably put your foot in IMO.

I hear that you need to buy at least one shoe size bigger for waders, so that being said, where can I find some waders size 15 or bigger? I'm like you I wear a size 15 hiking boot, some of my tennis shoes are 14 just depends on the brand. While you don't get your pick of everything like the rest of the average joes, Cabela's has a livable selection of big foot shoes for guys like us. In their Supermag 1600 waders, I bought last year a size 14 and size 15 shipped to my house (although you can have them sent to a nearby store) and kept the ones that fit better. To my surprise the 14's fit better. I did the same with their Iron Ridge boot for upland/walking although I had to have a 15EE in that boot. The only bummer about the fact that Cabela's has the bigger sizes is that you'll never be able to go to the store and try them on-- they are like every other store, they just won't waste floor space on stuff that doesn't turn over quickly. Their return policy is good and I've never abused it though, so if you look for their big stuff you can usually do what I did and just order a couple of different sizes and return whichever didn't fit.

Thanks Dave. I will be trying the Cabela's option to see if they send me some that fit. Did you get the stout or regular Supermag? I'm just wondering because I'm 6'5" 260 lbs, so I think I would have to get the stout pair.

6'4"/220 and I fit in the regular just fine, they always upsize the waders with the big feet and one of my biggest problems is that by the time the feet get big enough the waders are usually big enough for 3 of me! (in breathables anyway). I think it depends too whether you are doing breathable or 3 or 5 mm neos, with breathable you'll want a little extra room to layer fleece pants etc with the 5mm you really don't need much on under them. As you well know it's pretty hard to take someone else's advice on clothes sizes especially once you are a bit "out of the norm" like we are so good luck

I wear size 13 and some 14 in certain brands shoes. I bought size 12 and 13 waders, both fit well. Had no problems with the 12s. I'm also 6' 4" 220 and had the regular 3mm neoprenes. Works fine for me

Like the others, I have a 14 shoe and go to a size smaller in the waders. Sometimes I can even get away with a 12, but generally 13 is the best. Thanks Dave. I will be trying the Cabela's option to see if they send me some that fit. Did you get the stout or regular Supermag? I'm just wondering because I'm 6'5" 260 lbs, so I think I would have to get the stout pair. You won't need stout. If anything, you would need the tall.

What type of wader is best depends on the area you are hunting. I have hunted areas with a very soft muddy bottom where stocking waders would work better. I do not wear them because it takes to long for me to put them on and take them off. My buddies wear them and they get tired of me telling them to hurry up. Or they are on the tailgate after the hunt changing and I am in the truck drinking hot coffee. A smaller boot with a good snug fit is always better when hunting in the mud. Especially in a warm climate like Texas. I grew up in the midwest and we went one size bigger to dress for the cold weather. We used strips of 3" rubber in a figure 8 around the ankle and insole to help keep them on when we were hunting a muddy bottom. We would cut strips from a truck tire intertube. I also wear a size 14. I do not have a probelm finding them. I agree that most of the time I order thru a catalogue. Very seldom do I find them on the shelf.
