Only have weekends to hunt. So just after daylight last Saturday, neighboring property owners decide to sight in their rifles to the tune of aleast a full box. Then went on to work on their blind and drive in T posts. What the heck, why not take care of all that in Sept. Didn't see a deer all day. Trail camera is getting good bucks but thanks to all the noise it's not happening. Frustrating!

It's that landowners property and they can shoot off fireworks if they wanted to at 5am on opening morning of rifle season and there's nothing you can do. From my experience, if something like that happens on a neighboring property, it usually pushed deer to the property I was hunting.

I bow hunt 99.9 percent of the time... But the guys next to you have as much right to do whats legal as you... Same with dove hunters..its just one of those things you learn to deal with

If they aren't bow hunters they may not give a @#$%. Can't really fault them for it. We had the neighbor last year decide to start his burn piles up and cut broom weed opening bow and then again opening gun. and yes, nobody saw anything either weekend. Sucks but whatcha gonna do it's their land. I agree though irks you when peeps are putting stands up during season or just a few days before You have 9 months between seasons to put up stands...sheesh

yessir... we will check several guns this time of year, but our foodplots go in on the weekends in Oct (last weekend for ours to be exact). Neighbors have an issue with it, they can come have a friendly conversation and a cup of coffee, but it's highly doubtful any of them would.

I have to agree this happens to alot of us, but i figure if they are shooting over there, then deer will be coming over here.

I dont see anything wrong with it.
They are setting up for deer season... maybe a little late, but that is worse for them, shouldnt matter to you. Im sure ill get rave reviews for this, but if bow season started at the same time as gun season like i think it shoule wouldnt have the problem.

I once had a landowner have a family reunion on his place opening weekend of spring turkey season. About 60 people including a bunch of kids. The kids were climbing up in our bow stands and rifle stands. Shooting their BB guns, pellet guns, and 22 rifles out of our stands. Playing with our feeders. I finally went up to my rifle stand and ordered 2 punk-*** kids out of it. They said their uncle owned the land and they could do whatever they wanted. I told them that if I came up there, I was throwing them out of the stand. They ran off to tell their uncle (the landowner) but I never heard anything about it. The adults were driving all over the place and playing music so loud you could hear it anywhere on the 600 acres.
Common courtesy is long gone.
Practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes permanent.
