Is anyone familiar with Ceder Creek Taxidermy, in the Mabank Kemp area? I brought him a shoulder mount to get done, 2 sets of antlers for plaques, a deer hide to tan, and a wood duck to mount, and this was December 2007. I had good contact with him until I deployed in October 2008 and my wife got a hold of him while I was in Iraq getting the status of my order and they said their working on it. Then I got back in January 2010 and I have tried calling him several times and get nothing but voice mails and I leave them every time and still no return. I drive out to their shop and no lights are on but the freezers out on the porch are still filled with furs and things to be mounted and there all still froze so I know the power isnt shut off. Then I write a letter and even express certified mail so they would have to sign and I know they received it and about 3 weeks later I get it return saying unable to deliver. Now Im stuck with what should I do. I have already paid in full for all my stuff and would like my mounts and stuff...they were my first deer and first wood duck. If anyone has any suggestions please fill free to give advice!
Note he has done mounts for me in the past with fast turn around time and great mounts...so i trusted them with the rest of my stuff...

I posted this same reply to you in the Open Hunting Discussion section....
My hubby just got some mounts back after 3 long years also. It's very aggrivating, I know. In our case, the guy we use has been doing my hubby's and his family's mounts for at least 15 years! All of a sudden, just like you experienced, he didn't return phone calls. We were ticked, confused, and didn't know what to do. My hubby drove over there a few months ago and just happened to catch him home. Long story short, the guy had been very ill and very overwhelmed with his orders. We will never know why his wife didn't just tell us that he was so ill. So, about 5 more months after the confrontation, we finally did get our 4 mounts back.
I guess my advice to you would be to keep going over, maybe sit a little ways down the road, and watch for someone coming/going.
The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

I too have had a less than favorable dealing with said taxidermist.....I have a friend that has had ducks with Mr Calvin for 3+ years with no responses or anthing.....Luckily I got my shoulder mount in OCT from the 2008 season. He has done 3 deer for me and everytime the deals get longer and less communication. I took my business elswhere last year.
