Well I use knight myself. I know knight isn't making guns anymore or at least not like they were. It's in my opinion that there all pretty even now days and it's personal choice. Now if I were to go out and buy a new muzzleloader I would choose the TC Encore.

I have a Lyman GPR 50 cal percussion and a flinter. The percussion will put 20 balls in one hole at 50 yards from a sitting positon. The flinter will probably do the same if I can ever quit flinching.
Practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes permanent.

I have an Invest Arms Hawken replica and love it. Never got it to shoot 20 balls in one hole, but it shoots plenty good at 50 yards to kill deer.
I also have to say I dont consider it to be a black powder gun unless it is iron sight and you shoot loose powder.

matt My first flintlock was an Investarms Hawken. Very good rifle...definitely capable of shooting in the same hole at 50 yards. Actually, Lyman's Great Plains Rifle is made by Investarms.

Just as a FYI, Knight Rifles was purchased by a plastic company and they will resume building rifles in 2011. I love my Knight Disc Extreme. I dumped over a 3x2 mulie just last month when I hit it through the gut.

The best black powder muzzleloader? Are you hunting squirrel and rabbits, cyotes, deer? A 36 caliber flintlock rifle is nice for some animals and some locations. But so is a .62 caliber smooth bore. If I had to choose one all around gun it would definitely be the .62.
