Sounds like we are all in the same place. I have plenty of does coming and with the cooler weather that are starting to come out alot more during the day. I hope to start to see some sort of change pretty soon.

All I am seeing at the feeders outside the fence are A LOT of hogs and a few does/fawns. I saw a 2.5 year old 8 pointer about 1-1.5 months ago and there was another young 8 pointer at one of the feeders 4 weeks ago. Still waiting on Mr Big to show up since my neighbors have been under a coop for 14+ years.

Also got some of my neighbors cattle. Wish I knew how to get in touch with the owner. Spoke with the Sheriffs office several months ago. He said there is nothing I can do if the neighbors at least have a barbed wire fence...and it doesn't have to be standing either. He said he would check into it. I haven't heard a word. I guess if they damage a feeder the neighbor will be responsible. Seems like he is just getting free grazing to me. The cattle can even travel up and down the river.

same here, though we don't seem to have that many hogs this year. There is typically a nice suprise that walks by in mid/late November though so I am counting on that. There are already a coule of nice scrapes that I'll be focusing on come the opening weekend. Good luck to all

Killed an 5.5 year old 8pt last year on the first Friday of rifle seson that I watched him breed a doe 2X before I hot him. Saw 3 other bucks chasing a different doe that day and one chasing on Sunday of opening weekend. In 6 years of hunting Eastland County I have seen mature bucks tending does 4 of thos six years in the first week of season.

I have fewer hogs and many bucks this season all young ones though, a doe here and there. But the lack of pigs is awesome. They will be back now because of all the rain. But if you have many does, do not disturb them and the bucks will soon follow.

This is our first year to hunt Eastland county and really do not know what to expect. I set a feeder and a camera and let it run for five weeks before we set any others. I have lots of pictures of does and fawns. I also only have two pigs, one really big boar and one young boar. I only got one buck that came in for about an hour the day before I checked the camera. The picture is a little cloudy because a spider decided to build a web over the lens.

i was at the lease today. Still have no bucks showing up to the feeders yet. Abd the does we did have coming are not hitting them as hard with all of the acorns. Hope to see some rain this week and maybe things will turn around.

Pulled all my cams from the pellet feeders about a week ago as the feed ran out. My hunters are rehabing the corn feeders and setting up game cameras in their hunting locations now, so I lay low for a few months. I have been getting lots of buck pictures all summer. During the extreme heat, almost no deer during the day...all at night. Dayttime activity picked up as it cooled off but lots of acorns falling now. Hard to compete with Mother Nature's candy when it is free choice everywhere. The deer are out there. We are just in a feeding pattern transisition. Build a feeder and they will come...eventually :-)

Ran out of time and didn't get a protein feeder up at this site. Left the corn feeder running to use up my corn supply. Ten reasons why to fence Eastland County feeders.

I am hunging off Hohhertez Rd and FM 207 in Strawn. Just left a camera out the last week and got a shot of a very decent 10 pt. No hogs surprisingly so far on cam. Have not shot a deer in 2 years on the place, others have. I have only seen does while hunting. Nothing worth taking down in my particular area. Got one good sized bobcat at the end of last season.
