I've been hunting private sloughs and such for the past few years and my buddy and I want to try something different. We live about 5 minutes from a public walk-in only wetlands. What's the usualy walking distance and can you ride a bike?
Thanks

People will walk in various distances. What matters is how far you can walk with all the gear on. Make a dry run and see how far it is...if you are going solo you don't want to get in a situation where you wear yourself out when you get to a spot that is muddy and could maybe fall or worse drown.

As far as a bike goes I've never heard of anyone going in using a bike...I'd think with the gear it would be hard to ride. I'd laugh if I saw someone riding a bike with a shotgun and two dozen docoys on their back.

Personally if you know your way around I think a bike is a good idea, you can hook up a cart on the back and carry all your gear to the spot faster and further away

Thanks fellas. I think we're going to rig a cart that we can carry some stuff on and ride 2 mountain bikes. We've found a place where we can put our kayaks in as well and kayak all the way to the back part of the area.
