Ok lets hear from the people that have the experience, I am thinking of going with a Timney drop in competion (3 lb) for my Bushy M4.Also what is the differnce in Large pin and small pin, is it the Mfr. or what and why?

Colt are the large pins, most all the normal AR's are small pins. I like Timney, but my favorite are JP Triggers. We use these on all our guns and use the medium think its called tactical spring( important for using military hard primer ammo)

Edit, this is not the exact kit I recommend, for a little more you get the hammer as well. These kits are rock solid real deal triggers. The timney is a good choice as well. Both of these are real improvements since they eliminate creep and don't decrease reliability. I did the spring trick on my dads AR and there is no comparison between it and these. These have ZERO creep, so are much better. I freaking love the JP triggers.

The JP spring are what I use on teh trigger jobs I offer and are excellent to reduce the weight of your exsisting FCG. Adding the spring kit alone will do just that though and wont make your trigger any smoother thats why I fit and polish the hammer and trigger when I do a trigger job.

The Geissle, WC, and Timney are all excellent drop in triggers as well. I dont know about the problem you have heard about the Timneys but I have thousands of rounds through them with not problems at all. I have one that has about 2k through it and it has been in 5.56 , 6.8 and 308 rifles and never had a problem short life span. As a matter of fact some of the hardest primers around are on the SSA 6.8 ammo and the Timney did not fail to fire.

I prefer the Timney as they are about $100 less than the Geissle and WC and some of the others and are of teh same quality with same amount of creep (which is virtually 0 LOL) and are also offered in a 3#. Most of teh others only offer a 4#.

If you want to compare one of my trigger jobs to a drop in Timney let me know I have several here at the house !

Yes ! up

I replace 2-3 National Match 2 stage for single stages a month. Im not a big fan of the take up on the 2 stage and prefer a crisp clean breaking single stage in the 3-4# range any day !

World of difference. I don't like the two stages as well, thats why I like the jp. The zero creep and 100 percent reliability. Mine is like clicking a mouse.

What do you not like about RRA's 2-stage NM trigger?
