No special permits that I know of, just the proper licenses. I have hunted ducks for years about 7 miles south of Port A in what they call the
Shamrock/Wilson cut area. Its public hunting but is accessible to walk in, though it can be a little rough. We use a boat which makes it easier to reach our hunting spots.

I dont think you need any specific permit. I would recommend asking a reputable source such as a game warden about the specific spot just to be sure. Lots of stuff to get you or your dog in trouble that goes on in that area that a lot of duck hunters aren't used too so be careful and good luck. (Tides, oysters, fog, etc.)

Fyi, I do believe the whole lake/spot naming issue is applied on the coast too, so we can tone down the specific spot info on the public forum before it turns into "one of those threads." Like always, feel free to send a pm if you got a spot for them.

Good luck!

I hunted down in that area last year. I got checked by the game warden twice and they didn't say anything about a special permit. But +1 on calling the game warden about your specific spot, cuz more than likely you will get checked.
