i think it is more that other animals (deer, raccoons and possums) don't like the taste/smell which leaves it for the piggies.

Why do hogs like diesel so much and how does it work....... they are attracted to the diesel to remove parasites and fleas and ticks. however, they will come to just plain old corn too.

We used to hunt in Old Ocean on pipeline right of ways, and the field guys said anytime oil would lay on the ground the squeelers would role in it. Guess they don't worry about cancer...

I think the main reason to add diesel to the corn is to keep the coons and deer from eating it all...Let me know if I am wrong..

X2 Got a place we have been hunting that is covered with coons, tried the ol' diesel trick and they didnt mind. Had 6 of them at a time chowing down on our corn. They would kill a 5 gallon bucket a night.

Take a telephone pole and bury it were it sticks about 5 feet out of the ground. Coat it with diesel and oil and the hogs will rub on it.

I,by no means am a tree hugger, but once one cup of fuel is poured onto the ground and makes it to the water table, traces of that fuel take decades before it is gone. Dont destroy what resources we have to hunt and fish in. It cant be replaced.

Hogs will come to diesel alone. Like stated above they like it because it keeps the parasites off. I forgot a can of gas oil mix one day after using it in a chainsaw. The pigs knocked it over and where it spilled they rooted and wallowed a huge hole. Same for a tractor that was leaking diesel, they dug the whole spot up.
