What, besides tomatoe juice, can you do to deodarize skunk smell off of your dog?
Now we used a formula that was on Pheasants Forever, which is:
1 Gallon of Water 16 oz of Hydroden Proxide (my bottle was 95% full) 1/2 cup baking soda 1 squirt of liquide soap (don't know how much "1" squirt is, but gave it the college try)
Soaked the dog good in water, then bathed her with the solution. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinsed.
I went ahead and bathed her again with her dog shampoo, and I don't think she smells. However, the wife says she can still smell it.
So what other formulas exists?

That formula is what I would have recommended (works great as a scent killer for deer hunting too). I have heard that if you build a small fire and put wt leaves on it to make it smokey, and then gold the dog in the smoke, this will neutralize the odor. Haven't actually tried it myself, just read about it.

Ask your wife to loan you some of hers or go buy it for you ... http://nationwidecampus.com/productinfo.asp?pid=3126&cid=120No joke ... works well. Not a bad idea to keep in the car or truck when traveling with the dawgs.

Man that stinks, Pepe Le Pew that is! Our Cocker got hit last winter, poor thing, bathed in similar mix as you described, and it worked but he got hit good, he carried a faint smell for like a week even after several baths!

Well, back from Church and the dog smells purtty! However, my house, WTF. Yes, brought the dog inside and she ran to her kennel. I carried her up the stairs and bathed her in the kids bathroom (wife was getting ready for Church). Currently have every window in the house open and about to head to walley world from carpet fresh room deodorizer. on the formula.

Got a buddy with a GSP, everytime out, she kills a skunk. He's done it all. Nothing really works very well. After a while you just give up and call the dog "Stinky".

was on the other side of the however, my dog still seemed to have the skunk spray ordor all over her. She didn't feel wet, but she got a bath, new color, and my house had to be aired out, since the wife brought her back in the house during the event.

Izzy got sprayed yesterday too. I did the peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap trick. She smells pretty good, but if she spends too much time in a room, the room will smell like a skunk.

Use the same formula just substitute the massengil for the peroxide. Make it into thick slurry liquid. leave it in for 15 min. and rinse.

You did all you could do, I dont think anything will take it completely away.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

Several years ago had a dog go one on one with a skunk and ended up a Petsmart, they have a bath they use for skunk. I've tried alot of things and that was by far the best......

Yeah... This - Does not work. The dishsoap/peroxide/baking soda does.. but I still think everytime my dog gets wet, I can still smell it on her. She got sprayed last year, took the bullet for me. Skunk was in my blind and it was pitch black.. I was just going out pig hunting and the dog was with me, the dog happened to go in my blind first.

If you can trap them and tranq em, removing the scent gland (it's right by the anal gland) isn't that hard. Once that is done, you can let em roam around as pets.
then there's just the small issue of being bit and contracting rabies.

My lab got sprayed 3 weeks ago. Here is what I did and it worked great, but the wal mart in waco smells funny now.
get 2 gal tomato juice 1 bottle hunters sent killer shampoo body wash (the green stuff) 1 bottle dog shampoo
first wash with the 2 shampoo's than rinse next use the tomato juice rinse no more skunk smell worked great.
