We have lease in Concho county that we have hunted for a few years. We have never had sheep on the property but now there are over 35 of them. I talked to the rancher and he said they are not his sheep. I have tried to make contact with the land owner next to our property since i know he has had sheep in the past, havent recieved a call back. As you could imagine they are a pain in the A$$, they are like vacume cleaners when they roll through. When a feeder goes off they come running like it was a dinner bell. They go from my stand to the other stands within 30 min and just make their rounds. Not sure what to do with them, my patience is begining to wear thin. Might be lamb chops for dinner. Any ideas? (I know fencing the feeders would fix the problem, but we got this lease so we wouldn't have to do that)

See if you can find a hole in your fence. Throw feed on the other side of the fence and when they all go through, fix the hole...Then it isn't your problem.

We have the same problem on our lease out in kimble except we have goats. They have their route planned to the t. They are at the feeders when they go off and make their rounds to every stand on the lease. We have a couple of feeders with fences around them and that works and it doesn't seem to bother the deer to much. the little ones sometimes seem to have a hard time with them. I installed a remote on my feeder last year and wait for them to leave and push a button to throw the corn another round. Unfurtunatley the goats belong to our leaser so the option of killing them is out. But thats what the pellet guns for. A little shout in the backside seems to do the trick. I firmly beleive that the goats or decendents of the hunting devil.

If you are bow hunting and decide to take a stab at one of them, keep in mind, if they have a thick coat of wool, you won't get much penetration with an expanding broadhead. Maybe 10 to 12 inches if you're lucky. Matted up wool absorbs alot of the blow.

What are you doin next weekend jankowski, we have a no guest rule until after thanksgiving, there are exeptions though I shot a couple on sunday morning with an arrow with no tip, stuck in them about 45 secs, made for a good laugh early in the morning. I want to kill everyone of them, just don't want to get into trouble.

you know SK i've always wanted to do that to mine. But how far would something have to be for an arrow with no tip to just bounce off them and not stick into one?

I shot the sheep at 20 yrds in the rear leg, had know idea that the shaft would penitrate and stick in the sheep. It suprised me to say the least, actually drew a little blood lol. Try it sometime, I couldn't stop laughing for a while. The herd left after i did that, go figure.

-James Buy some of the rubber blunt tips. Keep your shots at 30 yds or greater.
