I have only had deer at my feeder at night for the last 2 months. I'm starting to think that the deer don't or won't come around in the day time. Any ideas on how to get them to come during the day time? I know deer will be deer, but anything would be helpful.

Don't feel alone, last year we had pic's of deer coming to our feeders all day and all night. After the first two weeks of the season they went nocturnal and all we had was night shots on the cameras, except for yearlings and a few young doe. Getting them to come in during the day? That totally up to them, were at their mercy. Don't give up things will change, just as the weather has changed.
If we always do, what we have always done, the we always get, what we have always gotten! Learn to adapt!

Your lucky. This is my third and probably last year on my current lease. I can count on one hand the number of deer I have seen at a feeder or on oictures at a feeder in the daytime. At night, it's a whole different story..... lots of deer.
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

The rut changes everything. No need to come out during the day right now, especially with all the yummy natural foodsources available.

Have your feeders set to where there won't be corn on the ground at night.

Turn off the feeders and turn on the day before opening day.
One time my feeder was clogged from the piece of a bag so it didn't go off for a few weeks. The next week after unclogging it I saw more deer at it than I had seen in 3 years.

This year have my feeders feeding only once at day break, no late after noon feeding. I figured if they wanted to eat they better come early, but this is the first year I have tried it so I dont know yet how it will work.

Do you have pens around your feeders? If you do then they need to be as large as you can make them. I like to go 50 X 50 feet. Deer don't like to be penned in. If there are no cattle or few cattle I prefer no pins.

Any ideas on how to get them to come during the day time? I know deer will be deer, but anything would be helpful. Think about it...as hot as it was the last 2 months would you come in the daylight to eat? I would not do anything different. As it cools off this fall they will show up earlier.

Thanks for the the info. I think I'm going to try and change up the time on the feeder. I will be out on Sat. and Sun. afternoon for bow season, have to work in the morning. I'll change the times on Sun. I'm hunting in Jack county about 12 miles NE of town. Thanks again.

Deer go nocturnal for a reason. During the summer months its usually because of the heat. If they won't come in during daylight in the cooler months, something else is affecting their behavior. The most likely cause is too much human activity/pressure in the area. Could also be livestock, hogs, etc that has them on edge. You'll just have to find out for yourself.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.
