I got on a lease out there when is the best time to hunt out there and when does the rut start

Shot a toad 24 1-8 inside main frame 12 with a split eye guard scored 156 short tines but very heavy . Deer was killed on 120 ac cotton field of my buddies grandmother with about 15 ac of habitat all luck 1st hunt and only hunt ther land sold one week later

In foard and wilbarger county my best dates where from dec 4-20 with out a doubt

Initial rut anywhere from Rifle season opener until 3rd weekend, then 2nd rut around Dec 4th-20th peaks depending on moon phase and current weather conditions. Baylor county is a great county with big buck potential!

Oh yeah, if it's real cold, be out hunting instead of hanging back, chances of seeing a big boy are more likely in foul type winter weather! That has been my experience anyway.

You guys are spot on on the timing of the 2nd. Shot the deer in my sig 12-6 in Willbarger Co. not far up the road.

Thank yall for all the info I am ready for the season to start.Going down this weekend to start the feeder, my brother inlaw said looks like the rut is going to start early in Abilene
