Does anyone use a thermacell in the bowstand? I usually just grit and bear the mosquitos but am thinking of trying it this year. They claim to be odorless but I kinda thought it has a slight odor, but maybe I am crazy. What do you guys use for mosquitos and whats your opinion on thermacells?

i used one for the first time last nite... didnt even get buzzed by a skeeter, I am now a card carrying believer, I did notice a slight smell, but nothing a deer would assosiate with a human in my opinion

Yea, I have them on the back porch and they do work wonders there. I just wanted to see if anyone has used them in the stand. I might just have to try them out because I know with the recent rains mosquitos will be bad.

I use one bowhunting anytime skeeters are present. I've never seen deer react to it.

Thermocell all the way. Figiting and smacking skeeters run off deer much more than a thermocell IMHO

I have used in a climber, box stand and ground blind. It hasn't bothered any animals yet. You can go the extra mile and get the Earth Scent refills for the same price as the regular refills.
I am a proud United States Air Force NCO and I thank all of you for your support!!!

Just came from a week long bow hunt in Kansas with my bro in law. We are convinced the Earth Scent's in the Thermocells freak the deer out along with a couple of coyotes. They really acted different about it way different then the scent they catch of you. The regular scent seemed to fair a little better. Of course if you don't have to use it don't but it is hard to stay still with the little %&$#@$%s attacking you.
So use it but play the wind carefully don't assume they won't care about the smell cause I think they do.

i use one, i dont think i could go without it. like was said before, i would stay away from the earth scent. it has a much stronger odor, IMO. But as far as keeping skeeters away, they cant be beat.

I agree on staying away from the Earth Scent. Used this in Kansas and the Earth Scent did affect the deer stopped a couple of them like they'd hit a brick wall. Strange scent to them I guess even stranger then human scent.

We hunt where there usually isn't any but this past weekend was unbelievable with all the rains! My dad gave me one to try Sunday morning but the wind kicked up and I never had to turn it on. Hopefully this cooler weather will help us out!

Yes use a thermocell. it has a small odor but i shot a nice ten point and two hogs so far this week and it has not bothered any of them when they come in.
