Interesting that there are still a few who question my word. The pair are still here this morning. So in order to offer a little more evidence to satisfy those who are questioning the pics, try these ...

And if that isn't enough to satisfy you ... TS.

If there is one person on here who I would take at his word, it is Cappy. Why are these newbies coming on here and talking crap? Cappy posts all kinds of pictures, and always has waterfowl around to share. Ease up a little!

Good looking pics Cappy. Are you going to let them stay on the place or you going to mount them on the wall? Either way they are cool looking!

Since we feed the ducks and geese at that pond, I wouldn't shoot any that visit or stay here. Not only unethical IMO, most likely illegal too. Even the Eurasian doves that are coming here in numbers we leave alone.

Cappy, I honestly couldn't shoot them either. Even without the feed I'm not sure I could kill anything that beautiful. Great pics of an awesome bird. Enjoy them.

My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Jim and his wife Carol over the summer and he was kind enough to give us a tour his property.. You can't imagine how much work he's put in to making that a waterfowl oasis.. Without giving away all his secrets, he took raw undeveloped land, engineered it to hold water (at a controlable depth) and planted most of the vegetation as well.. It was quite impressive to see..

Great pics Jim!

They were still here early this morning and we got a few more pics. Here are all 12 that we've taken in a slideshow format.

mr cappy sir, i do not doubt at all that these pics are real. those are really a neat looking bird. congrats on having them come to your property.

now, i may be misunderstanding some of the other post who have doubted you, but i think they are questioning about how you were saying that you were surprised to see the birds being in full plumage now. i have already seen several birds that are plumaged out and some that have not gotten all theirs colors yet. so i can see both sides. im not trying to start anything, only trying to clear up a misunderstanding.

of course i could be wrong all together and they just being rude and insulting you, which isn't necessary.

again nice pics up . keep them coming. i enjoy them

I have found that diversity adds balance to things. And thats why i shoot a diversity of animals. so i can bring balance to my freezer

Great pics as usual Cappy! I will have to hunt my buddies place more this year. rifle

there was a guy on here named Chrazyhorse who's name fit him very well. He used to work at the Ft. Worth zoo and had tons of knowledge on those mandarin's. I rember him saying if anyone ever saw one it would be about 95% sure it was raised by someone.... Just like what was said above. Sure are pretty birds though! I can see a pic of Rusty with it in his mouth right now. up
