my set-up will be right off the edge of this food plot... or one of these trees...if I hunt here, I'm going to be scouting way more than hunting.

East Tx out t of Center. I have heard of setting up for a short shot but.... I mean really, the feeder is throwing corn into the stand and it is piling up against the legs of the the stand. I believe that's a feed trough, not a blind.

I'm hunting out west of Odessa with my buddy Rloving on this forum, he and I hunt a lot together..We will also do a week of hunting in Oklahoma in November (that's our yearly hunt at his familes ranch).
Good grief I can't wait till bow season starts, I've been ready since the season ended! What part of Oklahoma?

Opening weekend in Sterling County, then traveling to my other lease in Baylor County probably about Monday. So far Sterling County cameras are showing more big buck numbers, but Baylor County is showing more bucks during shooting hours.
Baylor County typically does not come on strong until the wheat comes up, but it looks good early. I do have some huge hogs on that lease though, and absolutely ZERO hogs in Sterling County.
I honestly cannot wait. My Z7 is shooting so good right now.

Are you really able to shoot a deer out of that tripod sticking out in the open like that? I am just curious because I have never used a tripod to bow hunt - only tree stands or pop up ground blinds. I would have thought that you would need to "bury" it in amongst the trees or brush to hide your outline.
I actually bought two tripods to use in Sterling County. I basically set them up in the middle of some mesquite trees to hide myself in the brush. I will hunt out of them on opening day in a couple of weeks. I just never would have thought that you could have set them up out in the open like that.
Just curious cause I went to alot of work to hide mine.
