Depends on where we are, as little as a 6-12 as much as 4 dozen.

What SP said depends on the place and how what you been seeing.
Funnest hunt on public for me was when we threw 8 dozen deeks on land and in the water.

My success in life is measured by the number of hunting

It depends on the time of year where I hunt. In the early season there aren't that many ducks around so 6-12 works good. However, when there are large groups down towards the mid season or after they usually come into larger groups. We use 3-4 dozen then and it works well for us. I'm no expert but It is what works for us!

Last year I was hunting flooded timber, and was putting out 4 to 6.

But if I am hunting big water. I [ut out big spreads a lot of times.

MOST of the time I'd say 3-4 dz.... I've been known to throw out 6-7 dz. a few times, but only a couple of those times I really thought it helped.
