To my knowledge, the U.S. Arsenal at Rock Island, Illinois never manufactured any M-1911 pistols.

Are you referring to Rock Island Armory, the Philippine brand? I never see those in a "brick and mortar" store.

Military Gun Supply in Fort Worth carries the Rock Island Arsenal 1911s that are made in the Phillipines. I have a Tactical model and love it. I have no idea about original US Military guns.

Ok I found out it is a Rebuild from Rock Island Arsenal. Stamped R.I.A. and FK Inspector Stamp. Butt it has ( X21-- ) SN#.. I am "TOLD" that it is a 1917 and that it was 1 of a batch 5000 Colt Reserved for Receiver only..?? Very odd trying to find out why the SN # starts with an X then 4 digits after it. Any ideas.
