Don't go to unit 61 around Uncompahgre Plateau area expecting to get an Elk just because it is across the Divide road from the famed unit 62 more cows (cattle) that you have ever seen and it is round up time.......more later

That really stinks. I've had the same problem with sheep up in unit 5.

Actually I had the units reversed.....Duh... We hunted unit 62 it was an over the counter license. Unit 61 is a draw and muzz points are in the 12 range rifle are around 6-8....Never went over there but was close enough that we should have heard some bugles, nothing. I think we were about 10 days early so say the locals... O well still have 15 days on license may try to go to San Juan for a few days..???
