For what it is worth...I had my first visit on Saturday to Smithfield Archery in Ft. W and let me say....I will go back there again! I expected to pay for new cables on my bow...instead he adjusted somethings and I only spent $3.00. All I have to say...is I enjoyed a business that is honest and the feeling of NOT being ripped off.

I just dropped a considerable chunk of change at Smithfield after a dry fire incident. I was lamenting the fact that it cost so much and then I thought how great it is to have a shop that you really trust. Smithfield is a top notch bow shop and while I occasionally shop elsewhere I won't let anyone but Stan work on my bow.

Just had my old Mathews Outback re-strung by them. Good work and friendly people. I'll be back.

I bought my Darton at Smithfield. That was years ago when they were in Smithfield. They started out as a feed store and slowly moved into archery. I don't think the owners now are the same folks. I think the owners then were the Stouts.

went there when I first got my bow, he taught me the proper way to shoot, and let me shoot in the range for about 30 min or more. He also adjusted my pull weight and draw length and only charged me $15.

What would Smithfield recommend in arrows for taking down an Alaskan Black Bear? The law says an arrow over 20 inches with at least a 300 grain broadhead. A 40lb bow is legal, but seems pretty light to me. Is there a bow that light with technical qualities that make it a good pick for a 600 lb black bear. www.alaskablackbearstalkers.com

You need a heavier arrow to get any sort of penetration stopping power on something that big. I'd also want a speed bow. That animal can kill you why not hit it with everything you possibly can. 60-70 lb bow. Jump at least 1 spine above the charts and use your 300 gr broad head and you will be golden. USe something like a destoryer, omen, monster or similar bow to make sure you got what it takes.

After deaing with Burleson Gun and Bow, went to Smithfield years ago and never looked back. Had the worst experience i have ever had with any buisness at burleson gun and bow. Those guys were horrible, not just their work but in dealing with also. Had to get the police involved. As far as Smothfield goes, that is the only place to go in the DFW area imo. I will buy my next bow there. I had them refletch some arrows and make some minor adjustments to my Bowtech General last season. They are great people and do awesome work.

Burleson Gun and Bow was awesome years ago when the original owner had it. I haven't been there in years since he sold it. Smithfield is one of the best in DFW as some others have stated. They will continue to get my business for years to come.

Smithfield is great, it's nice to go in there and actually have Rhonda remember your name and I'm only in there a couple times a year. Already have a lessons lined up with Stan for Jan to learn to work on my traditional archery skills.
