I for one like Ga hunting laws. You CANNOT hunt over corn/food plots or bait any animals. You can't run dogs. It is real hunting.

LMAO. It has nothing to do with being a "real" hunter. You still put in the time to figure out where they are you just give them a dessert before you shoot them. It just sweetens them up.

Have you ever even seen a lion hunt with dogs on video? The lion isn't "ran to death and then shot". The lion is TREED.....then shot. You and TX Deer Hunter need to come to your senses (if you have any).....give me a break.

If you really want to be fair, you shouldn't hunt with a scoped rifle, or a rifle at all.....actually no weapons should be allowed, it makes it "unfair" to the animal. You should just use your bare hands. Then it would be "fair".

When the mountain lion is treed, its more annoyed by the dogs than scared. If you just walk up to the tree and it sees you, it will jump out and take off. if it smells you it will take off.

These ignorant beliefs are why California has an abundance of mountain lions and no hunting.

I challenge each of the negative hound hunters to tell us how many dog hunts they've been on. Squirrel, bear, mountain lion or snipe--how many have you been on?

If you want a good hunt I will pass your info on to a buddy I know. It will be behind dogs. I wouldn't think calling and baiting is very good odds.

Eland Slayer. If you want to be a REAL hunter join the ARMY or MARINES and go kill people that shoot back. THAT IS HUNTING
I'VE BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT.
So go run something to death then shoot it. I bet you probably haven't killed anything that wasn't under a feeder.

There is a guy on Easttexashogdoggers that runs them with dogs. He is around leakey I believe. Suppose to have some damn good dogs. I see nothing wrong with dogs. I run dogs on hogs and have been since I was 10 or so. Nothing better than baying something up. Good luck with whatever you choose and make sure you take plenty of pics.....

i have never said anything was "wrong" with it. all i have said is that it isn't hunting. even in the texas parks and wildlife it isn't classified as "hunting"
i have ran hogs with deer and then we jumped on them and hog tied them. it was a blast. just not hunting

You ran hogs with deer? I'd like to see some pics or video of that.

Thanks for all the info but I am going to go with Mike. It may not be 100% guaranteed but after talking with him I am confident we will have a good time and I don’t think the odds are horrible.

Id rather chase a montain lion with dogs than hunt in a high fence, and i realy like hunting on high fences. So, this would be one of those hunts that would be on the top of my list. Good luck.

Same here. Nothing at all against mulie_mike.....but I just don't think the odds of calling/baiting in a lion would be that great.....at least not enough to justify the price of the hunt.

Haha....okay. Not that it matters, but I've killed far more animals away from feeders than under feeders. Although there is nothing wrong with feeders either.

No need to get your panties all twisted up.....we're all hunters.....so lets try not to condemn someone else's chosen method of hunting. Fair enough?

Kennedy: I hope I can persuade you. It seems you think walking up and shooting a treed bear or mountain lion is like shooting a squirrel from a tree.

I'm not wanting to argue, I just don't think a hunter like yourself would want to litterally spread PETA and Greenpeace propaganda.

"Running them to death" is simply a green peace/peta rumor purposefully started in California to end the mountain lion hunts. Its documented. Don't buy into it. Using hounds is also a great conservation technique because you can choose to pass up on an individual animal (mother with cubs, too young etc.)

Moreover, it's also one of the oldest techniques of hunting men have. If you are worried about the challenge of a hound hunt, try going in the Sierra Nevada's after black bear with a pack of hounds and a black powder. Much more physically demanding than any white tail deer hunt (feeder or no feeder). Still have to stalk. Still have to consider the wind.

If you guys read my posts I have chased hogs with deer. It just isn't "hunting". I am not trying to say that anyone that uses dogs isn't a hunter. I know how physically demanding it is to run dogs.
I have killed bears, bobcats, mountain lions, deer, squirels and many other animals, but all I am saying is that I went out and "hunted" them. Not over bait/calling or using dogs.
It is my personal opinion that the way that I hunt is "hunting" A person must have great skills to hunt that way.
I have shot a many deer under a feeder and out of food plots. I just agreed with one person that I dont like using dogs. Mulie Mike has offered me a cow elk hunt that is fair chase. Not in a high fence or under a feeder. I must spot and stalk for this hunt= hard hunting.

And no I could care less about PETA. For one people that claim to be PETA members and think hunting should be banished ARE NOT members. Peta is in for the rights of domesticated animals.

You are absolutely 100% incorrect in this matter. PETA wants TOTAL ANIMAL LIBERATION.....(admitted by founder and president of PETA).....and they are against any and all forms of hunting. If you do not understand this.....you need to brush up on your research. PETA is at the forefront of the anti-hunting movement.

Well add a two more people to my list of idiots on here.

On topic though, I have always wanted to kill a mountain lion and the hunt with mulie_mike sounds like a good deal and alot of fun. I'm anxious to see how it turns out.
