Had every intent to punch Kevin in the neck, crap on his pillow and turn around and drive home...but I figured I stay a couple days and hang out.

LoneStarCobra put us up at his place. 15 acres of milo with strips cut in it would make any dove happy. Problem is they were few and far between.



We got 1 the first afternoon and 2 more the next morning - only recovered one total. That was about all the shooting we did for dubs.



But we did shoot a helluva alot of skeet. Knock out with a little financial incentive. I won the first round and then never won again in 2 days Think those Jack Co boys cleaned me out of about $60. They even reeled in a generator so we could shoot skeet under the lights. Those boys run a class operation!



I am not sure if we shot more cases of shells or drank more cases of beer, but it was a heck of a good time with some guitar pickin' even breaking out in the evening. Fish fry Friday night and a rib burn Saturday. Unfortunately, KBTX's ribs came in 3rd place out of three entries. 2boots won the contest followed by Lonestarcobra (Clint). We had some dang good grub all weekend though. Taj Mahal of smokers:

Had a great time indeed. Too bad you had to leave early, or we might have taken a cool benji from ya. When we finished up Saturday night, it was 15 boxes of clay birds shot, not sure how many boxes of shells, and can't put my finger on exact number beers consumed, but it was a lot. Not 1 single time did anybody lose muzzle control during all the shootin' we did. And Cable is correct, Poisonivie can't hit the broad side of barn at 10 paces. Good times, good times. I will holler atcha "Winchline", when the birds start flying.

I'm sure the judges gave KBTX 3rd on ribs because he brought the drunk city slicker who was creeping everyone out.

I can't picture a field that looks that good--not
covered in birds. But, I had basically the same in some
locations. Years past, I had small little milo patches and
could limit a hundred times. This is weird boys-I hope something is not getting to the local birds.

I counted my money last night, I didn't win as much as I thought I did. I think it had something to do with the $5 buy back that I did every time. You other douchers didn't have enough confidence in your shooting to buy back in unless it was down to 2 or 3 shooters. Cowards.

What I think is when you saw the size of him you seconded guessed your abilities to put a quality neck punch in so you pulled out beer and your wallet and got some new friends.

Explain the new nickname, "Winchline."

A good buddy of mine AJ gave it to him sometime around 7:30 Friday and somewhere around the key of G. AJ owns an oilfield roustabout company, and being that Cable is the only person any of us had ever met with that name, he proceeded to name him "Winchline" after the cable on a winch truck. It stuck and everbody called him that for the rest of the weekend. AJ even mixed it into some lyrics in one of his grammy caliber tunes he played for us. Even though we didn't have many, I mean any, birds to shoot, I rank the fun I had right up there with sex and my 1st bicycle.
