Okay - Just picked up three new D-55 Moultrie Game Spy's - I hope they have improved the displays like they say they have. Moultrie has had a feature rich cameras. It has always been their crappy displays that goes out within a few months in the field. I would not care so much about the display but then you can't set features/options.

I have had that problems with every one of their cameras.

Put black tape over the display on the cover. That way when you open the camera you can still read the display. The screens go out from sun exposure. I have been doing this for three years now and not had any problems with my screens. Moultrie has supposidly fixed this by using a different company to supply their screens but i havent heard anything from the field. I would use the tape just in case.

I like the IR for battery life. The pictures show me what I need to see.

I like the flash better pics. I had the IR before they would see the red light and not walk in close enough sometimes never again straight flash for me.

jbs8307 - Thanks for the information - I will use tape on it from now on - I thought that was what was heppening but thought black tape would attract more heat to the display - I thought about white tape but just never took that next step.
