I've been debating about buying a bolt action rifle that is the same caliber as my mak-90. My local gunshop has had a CZ 7.62x39 carbine for a few months, so I figured I could get him down on the price. I go in today and first thing I noticed was the cz was gone. I also noticed another blued rifle, in what appeared to be in a Bell and carson medalist stock. Upon closer inspection it is a Interarms mark X mini-mauser in 7.62x39 wearing a new simmons wideview 3-9. Blueing is mint, not a scratch on her, even the bluing on the crown is untouched. The stock had a few minor scrapes on her. The handling of the rifle is great, trigger has no creep and around 3# maybe a hair less. I talked him down to 375 out the door. Get to my little range at my fathers house, load three rounds of the normal cheap wolf poly HP. Fired three rounds, walk the 95 yards, because the target has some ak-holes all around it. I started smiling, three holes all within one square inch. I marked those three holes off and headed back to the bench. I let the rifle cool off for a few minutes, I figured it can't be that good, to find a rifle that will shoot the cheap stuff like that. Second group, less then a inch. Not bad for a $375 rifle. I've never seen one, but I think it's a keeper. Now, I have this mint 2-7x33 Leupold VX-II in my safe that was needing a rifle to call home, I think I found one. Anybody else have or had one?

I had an Interarms Mark X in .270 that was a tack driver. I paid $250.00 for it at a pawn shop up here in North Carolina. I bought it for my wife to deer hunt with, but she didn't like it, so I sold it. It was a smooth, straight shooting gun though.

I found an original Whitworth Interarms 5x57 (7mm Mauser) with the set trigger and beautiful hand carved wood at an estate sale a couple months back... wow is that thing a tack driver. Consistently shoots 1/2" groups at 100 yds. They are very fine rifles indeed; congrats on the purchase!

I have hunted with a Mark X 270 for about 4 years now and it shoots less than 1" groups . I took an Axis buck with it 2 weeks ago at close to 200 yards on a Jeep . They are great shooters .
