I am sure this has been on here before, but lets hear the experience with game cameras and which are good/bad/and ugly.

Only camera that I have had that works every time all the time, and I had plenty is the Buckeye. I have had moultrie, scottguard, stealth cam, and leaf river. I have had many different models of the moultrie and stealth cams, but only one model of the scottguard and leaf river. The only one I can recommend is the Buckeye.

I have a wildgame innovations camera. I have never had a problem with it not taking pics. However you will need to get the 6 volt extrnal battery pack if you want more than 400 or so pics.

Wildview are cheap and good for at least a season...They seem to crap out after the first year...

Just ordered yesterday a Primos Truth Cam 35 3.0 IR camera. From what I have read, it is supposed to be a good value for the price. Got it from Natchez Shooters Supply on sale for $79.99. I was looking at a Wildview X-35 that I saw at Sam's Club for $99.44, but the reviews I found on the Wildview were not that impressive. I think the Primos will be better quality. This will be my first game camera, so new toy to play with. Also heard the new Bushnells are really impressive, but they cost more than I want to pay for one.

+1 on the Primo's Truth Cam 35. I looked at all the reviews on Cabelas.com and ordered 2 of them. They are working great with clear pictures. It has date, time, temp, and moon phase on each pic. I have found that if they are turned just right at dusk they will "white out". All I did to solve this is turn the cam just a little to one side or the other and no more "white outs". I spent the extra $30.00 and got a solar pannel for each and never have to worry about the bat. It does not have an internal memory so you have to get an SD card for it. I would get two SD cards so you can just "grab and go" when you go in to get your pics. So for under $150.00, if you add the solar pannel, and the SD cards, I feel it is the best cam on the market!

It does have vedio, all though I have not used it yet, I feel just buy the pics it puts out that the vedio will be of good quality as well. Give one a shot you will like them!

I would have to look on the pannel, but cabelas has them. It says it is made for the Primo's cams. Although I have not tried them, wallie world has or had some for just under 20. You would have to look at the conection but if the conection is the same I do not know why it would not work.

I've got 2 wildgame innovations cameras and 1 Bushnell camera and all are in the field right now. Now my wildgame innovations cameras one is a IR and one is not. The one that is a IR has 3 small watch batteries that run the clock etc.. it runs off 4 C cells and I'm getting good battery life however I've had the brackets inside break that hold the battery contacts but I went head and converted it to a extrnal battery with a solar panel. My other wildgame innovations camera is a flash camera and eats batteries 4 C cells also. I also coverted this one to extrnal battery with solar panel. My Busnell well.. it takes 4 D batteries and it eats batteries also only getting 200 pictures before having to change them. That one will be converted soon also to extrnal battery.

I bought a couple of the wildgame flash cameras a couple years ago too, but since they only seem to last 2 or 3 days before the batteries die, they've been sitting in the garage, I just use my others. But I was wondering, everyone keeps talking about "converting" them to an external battery. How do you do this? Can you hook it up to run off of a 6 volt battery?
