I have read the answer on how to use this scope for yardage and mil placement on animal and can't remember the procedure or calculations. I have read the instructions and got pissed off. What is the quickest way for me to see a buck, measure distance, place mil or turn turret, and pull trigger. Should I build a small chart to carry with me...help!
Best Regards and Good Hunting

Size of target in yards x 1000 divided by MILS= yards to target.
Deer is about 1 yard tall if he takes up 2.8 MILS in the reticle then: 1 x 1000= 1000 / 2.8 = 357 yards.
Having a calculator on your phone is handy in this situation. You also need to have your field range card so that you KNOW your holdoff or adjustment if you have target turrets. If you have a second focal plane reticle (most are) then make sure you have the zoom on the correct setting so that the reticle subtends one MIL and its not lying to you.
Hope that helps.
