grouping size @ 20, 30, 40 yards? After not shooting for about 3 months mine is:

20yds.--- 2.5"
30yds.--- 3.5"
W/it this bad I didn't try 40 again yet

Normally it is:

20 yds.--- 1.75"
30 yds.--- 2"
40 yds.--- 3"

I'm kinda curious as to what some real world numbers are to know if I'm doing OK or if I suck!

for three months you do not suck period, with time you will get better - keep shooting and find your confort zone

What does your grouping look like? I know your good! I'm curious as to waht normal is & what good is. I have never shot bows w/anyone else in my life so I have absolutely no idea what other people shoot.

I don't really shoot much at 20 yards bc I like to shoot 5 or 6 shot groups and I end up breaking too many nocks.

30 - golf ball size

40 - tennis ball

This is lately after quite a few months a practice. After a layoff and some rust they would be larger.

If you hunt your main shot is going to be your cold boar shot (first shot of the Day) at 20 that's the money shot mine is 1" at 20 !

Find a good 3spot, 3D and field archery league to improve your shooting! I just wish Texas would get more into it like up north states do!!!!!! Maybe a longer archery only seasons
I went from 6" at 20 to a quarter consistent with a dime and x every 3rd shot with a little help from good friends! Thin started pushing my comfort shot from 30 yards to 70 yards for hunting. I hunt allot of open fields of soy bean ,alfalfa, and corn stubble fields up north for whitetails.

Start keeping a log, it will also help to improve your shooting

from my years of watching folks shoot, normal would be not quite snuff can size at 20...baseball size at 30 and softball size at 40. I have no idea what mine are now, I don't shoot but maybe a cpl times a year, but I imagine what is mentioned above could still be accomplished.

This is at 30... try to shoot 3-4 times a week...

my biggest problem is my vision.... it gets blurry after too many shots...
BTW... I have not shot 40 yards in over a year... I guess I could try, I have never taken a shot over 25yds...

I can group pretty well out to 40 yards but in all the deer and hogs I have shot with my bow, I have NEVER used anything but the 20 yard pin. Not to say that I would not use the other pins, I have just never had to.

Same here with vision trouble. 20-30 ok. But 40+, I'm not sure I'm aiming precisely enough to determine group size. At 20 yds, I can stackem in. I never shoot for group due to nock and blazer damage, but I did tonight three arrows in about an inch and ripped a blazer. 30 yd is around a tennis ball.

Mine is now bulls @ 20, 1" @ 30 & 40. More to come!!!

I practice out to 50 but the longest game shot has been 35 yards. I have the same target/pin fuzz vision issue at the longer ranges where focusing on one fuzzes the other but I'm going to buy some of the .10 pins and see if that helps.

Right now my shoulder is still strengthening from the surgery and after 25 or so shots my groups suffer but at 40 yards I'm around 4" if I shoot it early in my practice session. 20 yards 1.5, 30 2ish.

That's great shooting... Don't worry what everyone else is doing, most will lie anyway. lol.. Keep it up, there's nothing wrong with groupings like that.

I have never heard of such things that are sold on that side. I saw the verifiers and swear I heard angels singing. I hate shooting with bifocals and if these really work, I will feel and shoot like a young man again!
